OpenInfra Summit Berlin—WE LOVE IT!

Here’s a snapshot covering the three-day OpenInfra Summit Berlin with 800+ attendees from 65+ countries, 100+ sessions, 23 sponsors, and one global OpenInfra community.

After two and a half years of waiting out COVID, the OpenInfra Foundation hosted its first in-person event, gathering the global OpenInfra community in Berlin, Germany. This year’s Summit two main goals: to celebrate its contributions to human progress and collaborate on building the next decade of open infrastructure solutions.

Expectantly, attendees gathered at the beautiful Berlin Congress Center to enjoy a Summit week full of exciting announcements, educational breakout sessions, a bustling expo center, tons of networking, an evening party under the stars, and loads and loads of code.

Red Hat sponsored a Diversity and Inclusion lunch on Wednesday, providing a space for discussing relevant issues in the OpenInfra projects, followed by an opportunity later that afternoon for community members to get to know the Diversity and Inclusion Working Group and learn how to get involved.

Thanks to the smart health and safety protocols developed in advance and enforced onsite, no one reported testing positive for Covid-19 during the event. A total of seven attendees notified us that they tested positive after the event was completed, all within five days of attending the event. This accounts for less than 1% of all Summit attendees.
